Finding 500 Homes through 500 Churches in 1000 days |
Across Santa Clara and San Mateo counties, there are 2600 foster children, 500 of whom will not return to their biological families and today wait for a permanent, loving home and family. These precious ones have suffered much and have no concept of their God-given value and identity. Outcomes for these children are grim.
Our Challenge to the Christian Community
In response, Help One Child issues a challenge to the Christian community: To come together, across all denominations, to practice the religion that God himself calls pure and faultless: to care for orphans. (James 1:27) Specifically, we challenge the faith-based community to become the number one place where children in need find loving homes and families. And we challenge each church to raise up at least one new foster or adoptive home and volunteers to support them from within their congregation.

Our Strategy
For 14 years, Help One Child has developed strong ties with hundreds of churches. We have called them into action to promote awareness of the crisis, raise up new foster and fost-adopt families and build ministries of support.
