Can't Receive
This state is often indicated by a exclamation icon next to the mail box that is effected.
- Check your internet connection, If you can visit sites using your web browser, your connection is working.
- Check mail's Activity Viewer use shortcut Apple +"0" (the number 0) or in the menu "Window" select "Activity Viewer", if mail is still sending or receiving it will tell you the current status of its attempt.
- Check your mail connections. In Mail, choose Window > Connection Doctor.
Review the status information. Check your account status. A red status button (when you are connected to the Internet) indicates a problem with a mail server or your account setup.
- In Mail Preferences (Apple + "," ) select the Accounts tab.

- Incoming Mail Server should be set to: "mail.helponechild.org"
- In Mail Preferences (Apple + "," ) select the Accounts tab.
- Check mail's Activity Viewer use shortcut Apple +"0" (the number 0) or in the menu "Window" select "Activity Viewer", if mail is still sending or receiving it will tell you the current status of its attempt.

- Make sure the address you sent the email to is correct. Ask the recipient to send you a message and then reply to it.
- Check your mail connections. In Mail, choose Window > Connection Doctor.
Review the status information. Check your account status. A red status button (when you are connected to the Internet) indicates a problem with a mail server or your account setup. Check your Outgoing Mail Server (SMPT) settings:
- In Mail Preferences (Apple + "," ) select the Accounts tab.
- At Help One Child the Outgoing Mail Server (SMPT) server should be set to "smtp.sbcglobal.net" if this is not the case:
- Look for and select "smtp.sbcglobal.net" , if you can't find it click "Add Server..."

- Enter "smtp.sbcglobal.net" as thee "Outgoing Mail Server" and click "OK".

- Look for and select "smtp.sbcglobal.net" , if you can't find it click "Add Server..."
- When you are done, click Check Again to see if your changes resolved the problem.
- Check your message size, business accounts often have limits on receiving messages over 5 MB, personal accounts often have even more stringent restrictions. The size should be listed in the bottom left corner of your message window.

** Notice the "Image Size" selection box, you can shrink your image and some pdf file sizes right in mail!!!
If it is saved to the drafts folder you should also be able to view it from the size column of the drafts folder.

- Send your message again later. The server that handles your mail may be temporarily out of service, or the recipient's mail server could be down.
