Web Publishing
Our database is also set up as a webserver, which publishes our database for online access by staff and other authorized personnel. This is accomplished by a few different pieces.
- Filemaker Pro web sharing option is turned on on the Database host machine.
- Our router firewall has been set up to route traffic requesting port 80 (the standard port for web traffic) to be "forwarded" to the machine "Servanthood", which hosts the database program.
** the firewall is accessed internally at 192.168.1.254, appropriate username and password is needed to make any changes.
- We have a program running on the computer which hosts the database with talks to www.no-ip.com who for free points our dynamic (often changing) ip address to our designated url for the database.
